INGREDIENTS

2 lb stew meat

2 Tbsp veg. oil

2 cups water
-
1 Tbsp worcestershire sauce
-
1-3 cloves garlic, peeled
-
1-2 bay leaves
-
3 large carrotes, sliced
-
2 Tbsp cornstarch, optional

1 onion, small or med, sliced
-
1 tsp salt
-
1 tsp sugar
-
1/2 tsp pepper
-
1/2 tsp paprika
-
Dash allspice
-
3 ribs celery, chopped
-
4-6 small russet potatoes, diced
INSTRUCTIONS
- Brown meat in oil, place meat and juice in large pot.
- Add water, worcestershire, onion, salt, sugar, pepper, paprika, and allspice.
- Place garlic and bay leaves in spice ball and place in pot.
- Cover and simmer for 1.5 hours; add water as desired.
- Remove spice ball, add carrots and celery.
- Cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
- Add potatoes and simmer 20-30 minutes.
- To thicken, mix 1/4 cup water w/ cornstarch and add to pot
- Cook until bubbly and serve.
